Who's that Pokémon? Press Generate and find out: a creature pulled from across all nine generations, from Bulbasaur to Sprigatito. Ask for one, or set the count to six with No repeats on for a full team decided in a single roll.

A random draw is the spark behind a lot of self-imposed runs. In a Nuzlocke, swap the "first creature on the route" rule for a random one and every route turns into a surprise. Randomizer players use it to settle a starter or the last slot on a team; draft leagues hand everyone a random lead to build around, so the luck of the draw sets the tone instead of a tier list. Six creatures drawn at random rarely have clean type coverage, which is exactly the puzzle that makes the battle worth playing.

Use the generation filter to keep it on theme: Gen 1 for a nostalgia run, a recent generation to learn its dex, or All for the whole national lineup. The pool mixes starters, fan favourites, pseudo-legendaries, and box legendaries, so a roll can land on anything from Lechonk to Rayquaza.

It works as a creative prompt too. Artists take a daily creature as a warm-up, with the grid laying out a set of subjects to sketch, and around a table you can roll one and quiz a friend on its typing or evolution line. Switch to the wheel for a slow reveal before the name lands.

Every name comes straight from the games as text only, no sprites or artwork, so whatever you roll is a real Pokémon you could go and catch. Copy a roster into a challenge, or share a link that carries your generation filter and count, so a whole group rolls from the same pool and races the same file.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a random Pokémon from a specific generation?

Yes. Leave the filter on All to draw from all nine generations, or set it to a single generation (Gen 1 through Gen 9) to roll only from that region.

Can I generate a random team of six?

Set the count to six and turn on Unique, and you get a full, repeat-free team in one roll, handy for randomizer runs and draft challenges.

Does it include starters and legendaries?

Yes. The pool mixes starters, fan favourites, pseudo-legendaries, and box legendaries, so a roll can land on anything from a first-route catch to a campaign boss.

Is this an official Pokémon tool?

No. It is an independent fan tool that uses Pokémon names only (no sprites or artwork) and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company.
