A random D&D 5e loot generator that hands out a whole treasure hoard, sized to your party. Pick the party's level, press Generate, and you get what a dragon's lair or a bandit camp would hold: a pile of coins, a few gemstones, an art object or two, and a handful of magic items from the System Reference Document 5.1.

The level sets everything. A hoard for levels 1 to 4 is mostly copper and silver, cheap stones like agate and turquoise, and common or uncommon magic such as a Potion of Healing or a Bag of Holding. By levels 11 to 16 the coins are gold and platinum, the art is a gold circlet or a silk tapestry, and the magic runs rare to very rare. At 17 to 20 almost half the magic items are legendary. A hoard for level 3 won't hand out a Vorpal Sword.

Every part can be swapped on its own. Keep the coins and the gems, swap the one magic item that doesn't fit your campaign, and the rest of the hoard stays put. When it looks right, copy it for your session notes: the block lists each part with its value in gold, ready to paste into a prep doc or read out at the table.

Every magic item comes from the SRD 5.1, released under Creative Commons, so you are free to use what you roll at your table or in anything you publish. The coin ranges, stones and art objects come from our own tables, since the SRD has none.

Frequently asked questions

How much treasure should a level 5 party get?

Pick 5–10 as the party level. That hoard holds between about 350 and 2,700 gp in coins, one to four 50 gp gems, up to two art objects and two to four magic items, mostly uncommon and rare.

Can I reroll one part and keep the rest?

Yes. Each row has its own swap button: the coins, the gems, the art, or any single magic item. The rest of the hoard stays as it is.

Which rarity fits my party's level?

The hoard does it for you. Level 1–4 hoards draw commons and uncommons with the odd rare, 5–10 uncommons and rares, 11–16 rares and very rares, and 17–20 very rares and legendaries.

Are these items free to use in my game?

The magic items come from the System Reference Document 5.1 under Creative Commons BY 4.0, so you can use them at your table and in published work. The coin, gem and art tables are ours.
