Press Generate and this Minecraft item randomizer hands you a real item: a block to build with, a tool to survive with, a weapon for the next fight, or something to cook. Every result carries its in-game ID, so a roll like minecraft:elytra drops straight into a /give command once you have cheats or operator rights.
The point is the challenge. A "random item only" run limits you to one rolled item per in-game day: brutal on a flower, a gift on a diamond sword. A ten-item start dares you to reach the Nether or the End using only what you drew and what you can craft from it. Roll a palette of blocks for a timed build battle, or hand every duelist the same combat kit so a fight turns on skill instead of gear.
The category filter keeps a run on theme: tools for a mining run, food for a hunger challenge, redstone for a contraption dare. Blocks have a generator of their own, with all 934 of them. Everything in the pool is an item you can actually obtain, so nothing sends you chasing what does not exist.

Frequently asked questions
Why are dyes and spawn eggs missing?
Spawn eggs cannot be collected in survival, and sixteen dyes or wool colors would crowd out the tools, food and gear a challenge runs on. Every color of every block is on the block generator.
How do I run a random item challenge?
Roll one item and limit yourself to that, or roll ten and build something with exactly those materials.
How does the scavenger hunt work?
Start a scavenger hunt under the generator and you get ten random items to find in your world. Tick each one off as you go, and share the link so your friends hunt for the same ten.
Can I limit results to tools or food?
Yes. The category filter narrows the roll to tools, combat gear, food, redstone, crafting materials or miscellaneous items. For blocks, the block generator holds all 934.
Does it work for Java, Bedrock, and my version?
Yes. It draws from items common across recent Java and Bedrock versions, so a roll works on either edition. For a run pinned to a version, try the 1.21 generator.
